Since 1991, Rusty, a Harris Hawk or Baywing Hawk, has influenced my life. In 1992, Rusty convinced us we needed a dog to add to the pack for hunting. In 1993 we selected a Vizsla pup, Farli.
BayWing is the weblog for Diane Blackwood. She researches Sage Grouse at UC Davis and has been a falconer since 1981. Through her hawk’s interest in hunting pheasant she was led into aquiring a Vizsla and since has enjoyed a variety of activities with the dogs as well. These activities started with hunting and obedience, but spread to flyball, agility, and a few attempts at conformation, field trials and hunt tests. In years past, she has enjoyed sailing, and horse training, but seldom has time for these currently.
